NYC Art Expo 2023
Medium: Watercolor and Ink on Paper
In this five-piece collection exhibited at the NYC Art Expo 2023, I explore the dynamics between myth and mortality — using the mermaids and skeletons(fish or human) as a vessel to examine the intersection of beauty, decay, and transformation.
The skeletal structures embedded within each mermaid evoke both vulnerability and resilience — revealing an anatomy of myth that persists beyond its flesh. Through this series, I invite viewers to witness the coexistence of life and beyond within a single form, and to question the stories we preserve in bones, stories, and tradition.
